Great question! The park officially closes the week prior to our event. Because of this, we will be the only ones there and will have plenty of volunteers set up anywhere the route crosses a road - just in case. But it is, in fact, a closed course.

The fall in Utah is beautiful and unpredictable. The first week of October at North Fork Park should be stunning. The leaves will have just peaked a few weeks prior and it should still be fairly warm during the day, and chilly at night.

Yes. Athletes are choosing their own timeframes upon registration. Each group will have a designated “Last Lap” cut off time.

For safety concerns of all athletes, and due to the nature of this event, participation will be limited to those athletes ages 14 & above.

A timed event gives participants the opportunity to challenge themselves. Based on your ability and stamina, you’ll want to see how many complete loops or passes you can make in the timeframe you have chosen.

Yes. The event will be chip timed in 2026 by Laurel Timing.

No. It is an add-on which can be purchased through your online registration process. Select the race and camping bundle to to save $5.

Prizes are awarded to the top three finishers (1st, 2nd, and 3rd) in each category: male, female, non-binary, and duo teams. A minimum of three participants per category is required for prizes to be awarded.

Yes, if there are still spots available in the category you would like to transfer into. You may change from one timed category to another for the difference of the race price at the time of transfer. No refunds will be given if you transfer to a lesser time. All category changes must take place before theTRANSFER DEADLINE:SEPTEMBER 25, 2026.

Yes. There is a $25 fee for all transfers. You may pay the $25 transfer fee yourself or pass it along to the new participant. This fee is paid through the registration platform. Payment for the registration itself is a private transaction between the two parties. You will not receive a refund for a transferred registration. All transfers must take place before the TRANSFER DEADLINE: SEPTEMBER 25th, 2025.

We do not offer deferrals. You may transfer your registration to another athlete for a $25 fee up until the transfer deadline.

Consistent with the industry standards, entries are non-refundable, with the exception of active military or deployment. The safety of all involved in the race and race day is of the utmost importance. Should the race have to be altered or cancelled due to weather or other physical conditions (recognized as "an act of God"), no refunds will be given.
All participants have the option to purchase a refundable registration, which provides a refund on 100% of your registration fee and additional products purchased if you cannot attend for one of the reasons in the terms & conditions, which you accept when you select Refundable Registration. Evidence is required. Read the terms and conditions and select refundable registration when you register. See terms and conditions and submit your claim via the link in your confirmation email or scroll to the end of the this page for instructions to submit a claim from your participant account.

Participants are welcome to hike. We ask that you yield to those who are running and hike single file whenever possible, as not to crowd the trail.

We have 1 Aid Station at the event, which is located at the start/finish of each loop. Fueling can be very personal, so if you require/want personal fueling items, please plan to have those on you. Items that we'll provide to help you fuel, include:

Yes! Active duty military, veterans, and first responders may receive 10% OFF their NUT race registration! All discounts become active when registration opens to the general public.
To receive your discount, please submit your ID or proof of credentials via email to admin@goalfoundation.com. It may take up to 5 business days to process your request.
Please note, discounts apply to race registrations only and cannot be combined with any other offers. -

The dashboard will show you any important notifications, suggested events, products, and your current events. You can quickly register for our other events in your participant account as your personal details will be prefilled.
Preview and Update Personal Details
Login to your participant account
Once logged in, click on “Your Events” on the top of the page
On the right side of the tile for your registration, click on “View Registration”
Review your registration details to ensure they are correct. Update as needed.
Change your registration category
Follow the instructions above and then, click on the grey button labeled “Registration Options” at the bottom of the page, then click on “Switch category”, and select the category you want to switch to. There are no refunds for switching to a lower priced category and you will be charged the price difference for upgrades.
Transfer your registration to another participant
Login to your participant account
Once logged in, click on “Your Events” on the top of the page
On the right side of the tile for your registration, click on “View Registration”
At the bottom, click on the grey button labeled “Registration Options,” then click on “Transfer”
Enter the participant’s first name, last name, and email address. You can select between paying the $25 Fee yourself or passing it along to the new participant to pay.
When you click submit, the new participant will receive an email inviting them to complete their registration. The transfer will not count as registered until they submit their registration form.
NOTE: The GOAL Foundation and TFNU do not process refunds for transferred registrations. The agreed upon sell price will be exchanged between the two individual parties directly. The $25 transfer fee is processed through the participant account. Please ensure that you verify the seller is legitimate before transferring funds to someone you do not know directly.
Register Your Teammate
Inside your participant account, you can view and share your unique team registration link, see registered and pending members, message team members, and customize your team page.
Log in to your account and choose the “Your Teams” tab and then select “Edit Team”.
Invite your team members through the Invite People form or send your members your unique team registration link.
Create a name for your relay team. This name will be used for awards announcements and placement ranking.
Request A REFUND
If you purchased refundable registration, you can apply for a refund in your participant account.
Login to your participant account
Once logged in, click on “Your Events” on the top of the page
On the right side of the tile for your registration, click on “View Registration”
Scroll to the bottom of the page, where you'll see a link to review the terms and conditions, and another to submit your refund request.
The application must be completed within 60 days after the event date.

The Northern Utah Trailfest welcomes all race participants who may have a permanent visual, physical, or intellectual impairment that affects their ability to participate.
We are excited to partner with Ogden Valley Adaptive to provide an Adaptive Mountain Bike Race.
If you require any accommodations for other categories, please email admin@goalfoundation.com before registering. The team will review each request and do their best to provide support where possible. Athletes in this program participate alongside the general participant field. This is a non-competitive category that does not have separate awards categories.
If needed, impaired runners can have a Guide Runner assist them during the race. Guide Runners receive a complimentary entry upon request, prior to registration. Each athlete is allowed one guide, who must accompany them throughout the entire race.

There will be a 30 minute protest period where you can present your GPS data to the timers to correct any errors.
